I think, to be fair, that it depends on the speaker. Some were super, most were booooooring.

by highdose innot sure how long the sunday sermon is now, maybe 30 mins?
how much of that are people listening to?.
the kh is stuffy, the kids at the back of you is kicking up a fuss, the kid at the front of you is choughing all over the place, theres several hotties to your left , to your right theres that asshole jerk who really upset you last week, you just remembered on the way back home you've got to get some food in from the shops, and you must remember to speak to brother so and so about this that and the other, and also you need to remind sister example about that stuff, shit!

Stupid suggestion from Study Conductor
by roxanesophia inhi everyone, first i just want to say if it wasn't this forum, i'd be baptized!
i haven't managed to successfully end my studies with a zealous jw.
she uses everything against me to brainwash me into believing i need the org.

Good on you roxanesophia.
Now take the time to reflect on where you want to go. Whats wonderful is that the choice is all yours.
Maybe you would like to get back in touch with some old friends? In any case, life IS wonderful, dispite the problems. Enjoy.
PS. There will be moments when you need to talk. You know you'll always find a hearing ear here.
Best wishes

Be brave.
Just say NO!
You'll love yourself for it.
Oh, and come back and let us know how it went. Good luck.

on the subject of elders reading this message board
by cptkirk ini'm still laughing to myself thinking about elders/bethelites reading this messageboard.
yet another contradiction to throw in the basket.
didn't they always say how dangerous it is to read anything that contradicts the teachings of the wts?

There was a thread a few weeks ago on how many elders/ exelders are members here.
There are indeed several elders who come one the site. They realize that the WT$ has tricked them and that they are in a trap. They just dont want to put their whole life in the crusher yet. Yes its really THAT difficult for some elders, who no longer believe its the truth, but realize just how well they've been trapped. The traumer of losing close family, wives children, parents, etc is very painful. I have lost all of my family. My heart goes out to those who are not yet where I've got to. Its difficult living a double life. But many of us understand why and what they are feeling.

Just read up again on your previous posts. Your already free. You said youve never been so happy. Good on you.
Sizemik is right. Who cares what they say or think. Their opinion counts for nothing at all.
And what about your dad? He had talked about disassociating in the past. Do you think he still might do it?

CO talked out of both sides of his mouth
by life is to short intoday was the last day of the co's visit, my husband stayed home from the meeting and we painted the house together which was good, but he wanted to tie into the meeting, i was ok with it as it allows me to point out the stupid parts of this religion.
there were many things that made no sense but one that truly stuck out.. in his talk the co went on about how there are so many things satan uses to distract us from jehovah and one of them was fear of our future and how some work all their lives for retirement, many at jobs they hate.
people do not enjoy the here and now all out of fear for what will happen when they grow old.

In pursuit of my dreams
by fade_away in"followed dreams reaching higher.....couldn't survive the fall".
so the lyrics of one of my favorite bands say.. .
so i'm about to turn 27 and thanks to the good ol wt teachings of how this evil system of things is trying to corrupt us with satan's higher education, now i'm stuck in a 100+ degree warehouse making crap money handling and shipping heavy packages while following bizarre rules the boss has.

I understand how you feel fade away.
I know nothing about animation but I wonder if a bachelor degree is really worth the paper its written on.
It seems to me that animation is an art form. Did Leonardo de Vinci have a BA? I think not.
On another note, start looking round for a job that pleases you. It might mean taking a risk as trailerfitter says. That ones for you to contemplate though.
Remember the dead poets society?
Carpe, carpe diem, seize the day boys, make your lives extraordinary.
@trailerfitter: Good luck (Oh how it feels good to be alowed to say that!)

WT message about Apostates
by mankkeli inbecause of listening to the devil and not rejecting his lies, the first human pair apostatized.
so, then, should we listen to apostates, read their literature, or examine their web sites on the internet?
if we love god and the truth, we will not do so.

to follow false teachers who seek to “introduce ruinous ideologies” and try to ‘exploit us with well-turned phrases.
Personally I do not see myself as a teacher, false or otherwise.
Secondly, I have absolutely no interest in trying to persuade anyone to leave the WT$. If they ask my opinion I will give it, if they come knocking on MY door, I will tell them what I think. But if they ask my opinion, its probably because they already have doubts anyway.
People leave because they want to leave. Often because they have been mistreated or have seen the hypocracy themselves. Reading this website, for instance is just one step on their way to leaving of their own accord.
And as for exploit us with well-turned phrases , its rather the WT$ who is the champion at that, making statements with no real proof behind what their saying.

That Holy Spirit sure is a funny fellow!
by Aussie Oz inmusing the other day on times past and things i have learned.
i came to my appointment as a servant and also as a regular pioneer and bethel application.. i guess mr spirit figured that even though i was looking at porn frequently, he would just pop the idea of appointing me into the local elders heads.
as well as the circuit overseer of course.

Have you not considered that maybe Mr Spirit has you earmarked to be part of the governing body one day?
Maybe you are like Moses, who spent 40 years tending the sheep of his father in law before he was finally called to his real purpose.
On another note, maybe the elders and the CO were applying Jesus council:
let the one without sin cast the first stone. They didnt ask for the copy of Playboy as "evidence" by any chance?

Short memorials, boring weddings, no birthdays, etc...just because it places too much emphasis on a person?
by Chemical Emotions indoes that seem fair?
did it ever make you feel kind of...ashamed to be a human?.
-
jean-luc picard
The moment you start placing the emphasis on the person, showing them how much they mean to you, is the moment that you realise what true happiness is.
